עמותת אנובנו (או "אנובנו - שנת שירות בגיל השלישי") היא מיזם חברתי-לאומי פורץ דרך שהוקם במטרה לשנות את התפיסה הציבורית לגבי בני הגיל השלישי והפרישה מהעבודה. במקום לראות בגמלאים אוכלוסייה שרק זקוקה לתמיכה, העמותה הופכת אותם לנכס חברתי אסטרטגי, ומציעה להם מעין "שנת שירות" אזרחית.

Retirees (individuals or couples) who have passed retirement age, choose to leave their comfortable homes and move to live for a period of at least a year in the settlements of the social and geographical periphery (for example: Arad, Beit She'an, and Kiryat Shmona) The commitment: Volunteers commit to intensive community activity of about 4 days a week (at least 20 hours a week). They integrate into the local education, welfare, tourism, culture and economic systems, and bring with them the rich life experience.
The Anubano Association (or Anubano - A Year of Service in the Third Age) is a groundbreaking national social enterprise established to change public perception of the elderly and of retirement from work.
Instead of seeing retirees as a population that only needs support, the association turns them into a strategic social asset and offers them a kind of civic "year of service."

The local hosting authorities (or donors and partners) provide residential apartments for the members of the nucleus and accompany them, so that they act and live as an organic part of the local community. The social connection: The members of the nuclei come from all corners of the country and from all sectors (religious and secular, professionals from diverse fields), which in itself creates a unique and cohesive microcosm of Israeli society. The project, founded by Yitzhak Ashhar, has gained special momentum against the backdrop of recent challenges, as it provides a vital response to strengthening civic and community resilience in places that need it most, while also granting meaning and vigor to members of the third age.
